Founded in 1845, the New York Life Insurance Company is one of the United States’ largest life insurance providers and is ranked among Fortune 100 companies. The insurer was one of the first to pay cash dividends to policyholders and is licensed to sell life insurance products across the country. New York Life in 1994 was designated the exclusive underwriter of life insurance products for AARP members. A mutual insurer, New York Life is not traded publicly.
